Born in Great Yarmouth, I began my art career at Gt. Yarmouth college of Art and Design and became a Display Exhibition Designer.

Just before I retired I began painting in soft pastels. Living in Norfolk where I was born, subjects to paint were on my doorstep. Brancaster, Wells Harbour, Holkham Beach, Weybourne and big, big skies.

My style is intentional and expressive when laying colours. I am conscious of Nature's atmospheric influence, especially as the sun emerges or dwindles.

I could always draw, and painting in pastel is just like drawing in colour.

Painting in oils allows me to consider which medium would best suit the subject which I am painting. The outcome is different. The style the same

Water often appears in many of my pictures. Seascapes, pond, streams, lakes, even puddles.

All these mirror the skies giving colour and reflection to the paintings.

Now living in Nottingham. I am an exhibiting member and Fellow of the Nottingham Society of Artists.

I regularly exhibit throughout Nottingham, Riverside Gallery Barnes, S.W. London. And The White Horse Brancaster, North Norfolk.
